Clergerie

Clergerie

La Maison Clergerie is a French heritage brand, with roots dating back to 1895, that is celebrated for its innovative designs and unique reinterpretation of classics for the modern, discerning audacious woman and man. The Clergerie brand is renowned for its iconic looks – brogues, architectural shapes and forms, strong heels and blocks, mix of materials, articulated wood and signature raffia – with a modern fashion twist, establishing Clergerie as an irrefutable reference in the shoe sector. In 2011 Clergerie passed the creative direction to Roland Mouret. Having already worked together in the 1980’s Roland was able to seamlessly carry-on the legacy of Robert’s vision. David Tourniaire-Beauciel succeeds him in 2017 and brings his shoe designer experience to the House. Proud to be “Made in France”, Clergerie products illustrate the key values on which the company was built: Creativity, Quality and Savoir-faire. La Maison Clergerie operates 20 boutiques and is distributed across the globe. After 25 years designing for collections around the world, David Tourniaire-Beauciel returns to his roots to succeed Roland Mouret at the creative helm of Clergerie. Born in Romans-sur-Isère, where the Clergerie ateliers are still located today, David Tourniaire-Beauciel trained at Stéphane Kelian before moving to Paris in 1994 to design for Jean-Paul Gaultier. Tourniaire-Beauciel has a proven track record of successful collaborations, having worked with designers like Martin Margiela, Phoebe Philo at Chloé, Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy, Stella McCartney, and Demna Gvasalia at Balenciaga, in addition to his involvement with the relaunch of Salvatore Ferragamo’s footwear collections. Coming from a family that also worked in the shoe industry, and through his extensive experience, David Tourniaire-Beauciel acquired a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of shoemaking. “It is truly an honour to work with one of the most iconic French shoe brands and I feel the responsibility to bring its French touch to women around the world” says David Tourniaire-Beauciel.. It is also very emotional to be part of Robert Clergerie and work again in my home town.” Clergerie exclusive at Liberty Shoes Australia!
